In this scene, Lexi takes Elena to a dark cellar where Stefan is chained up. Stefan is struggling with his dark vampire side, known as a “Ripper.” Lexi explains that they need to starve him of blood to dry out his dangerous cravings. Stefan tries to manipulate Elena by telling her he loves her, but when she doesn’t believe him, he gets angry and insults her. Lexi reminds Elena that this is just his addiction talking. Stefan threatens Lexi, but she bravely stands her ground, reminding him that she is already dead.
